Raghunath Temple

The founder of the kingdom of Jammu and Kashmir in 1835 AD, Maharaja Gulab Singh started the work and was completed by his son Maharaja Ranbir Singh in 1860 AD. The walls are covered with gold sheets on the inner sides of the temple. There are many galleries containing lakhs of 'Saligrams'. The encompassing Temples are consecrated to different Gods and Goddesses that are connected with the epic Ramayana.
